FIELD COURSE

The Field Course program has been developed in order to provide field exposure to students and researchers so that they are equipped to carry out field experiments. This course allows students and researchers to gain hands-on experience of sampling and handling of different field gears and equipments. The course includes planning and preparations for the fieldwork, sampling and data procurement techniques, sample preservation and transportation methods. The field course assesses vegetation, benthos, pelagic and terrestrial samples. The objectives of this course are to study biodiversity, ecology, conservation, geography, environment, pollution, soil/water quality of estuaries and coastal ecosystems. On return from field work, sample analysis could be carried out and taught to students and researchers if they desire.
