Foundation has taken up social research to probe into issues that affect coastal communities. The sea-level rise, geomorphological changes and cyclones are impacting the lives and livelihoods of the coastal communities. Among livelihoods agriculture and fisheries (including aquaculture) are highly impacted; therefore, solutions are required for sustainable lives and livelihoods in face of climate change. Following research lines have so far been taken up by the scientists and students of the foundation
- Investigation of the geomorphological changes of coastal islands of Northern Bay of Bengal through geo-spatial techniques and ground truth verifications
- Causes and consequences of embankment breaches and the engineering techniques to build sustainable embankments
- Climate refugee is an issue that foundation is conducting its research by considering aspects of inter-generational disparity, gender-inequality, nutrition and mental well-being
