The foundation in collaboration with B.E. College Model High School has conducted One Day field workshop on Water quality of a Ramsar Site at East Kolkata Wetland on 12 December 2023. Participants were higher secondary students and teachers of the school. On behalf of the ECSF Dr. Sourav Paul and Dr. Kanailal Das acted as resource persons.

Ms. Debarati Sengupta, the Ocean Literacy Coordinator of the foundation has been selected to participate in the International Symposium of the United Nations Regular Process on strengthening the ocean science-policy interface, which will take place in France, Paris from 12-13 December 2023. This will be conducted jointly by The United Nations Office of Legal Affairs, Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea and Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO. 

A popular talk on current environmental issues was organised by Eco Club of Rabindra Mahavidyalaya on 7 th December, 2023 at the college campus . Speakers such as Dr Sourav Paul , Mr Sumanta Biswas(Padman), Uma Shankar Mondal (Mangrove man) delivered lecture on contemporary issues of cyclone, women’s health, and mangroves, respectively.

Jhinook Mitra supervised by Dr. Bhaskar Deb Bhattacharya has successfully defended her research on ‘Hourly variation of mesozooplankton and water quality of Thakuran estuary, Indian Sundarbans’. ECSF wishes Jhinook the best of luck in her career.

Aritra Bhattacharya supervised by Dr. Tanoy Mukherjee has successfully defended his research on ‘Bioacoustic Differentiation of Greater Coucal (Centropus Sinensis) at subspecific level’. The ECSF wishes Aritra “Best of Luck” in his career.

Puja Mishra supervised by Dr. Jhimli Mandal has successfully defended her research on “Spatial Variability of Environment and Microzooplankton of Indian Sundarbans”. The ECSF wishes Puja “Best of Luck” in her career.
