On 13 July, 2023, Certification ceremony was held at ECSF for the recent group of students who completed their science hands-on (Specialization: Coastal Dynamics and Communities). The ECSF wish them best of luck!

Adamas-ECSF joint dissertation students Ms. Debisha Ghosh and Ms. Mohor Samaddar had successfully defended their MSc thesis in Geography on the climate refugees of Sagar Island and Ghoramara. Best wishes to them.

INSA Summer Research Fellow Dr. Lakshmi Devi P of the Jain Deemed to Be University, Kerala has joined the ECSF of 5 June 2023 under Dr. Sourav Paul. Dr. Lakshmi will undertake projects on biomagnification of heavy metals on Gangetic food web.

The foundation welcome Social worker Prof. Md. Habibur Rahaman at ECSF. Professor Rahaman is a social activist and practioner in Bangladesh. He is the HoD of Department of Sociology and Social Work in the People’s University of Bangladesh, Dhaka. His message to foundation students was that social work is a process and shall be seen as a profession. Both ECSF and Community Social Work Practice and Development Foundation of Bangladesh led by Md. Rahaman in future may engage in activities related to vulnerability and resilience of coastal communities of India and Bangladesh.
