The foundation along with Ravindra Mahavidyalaya, Hooghly, West Bengal hosted an INSA Popular Science talk of INSA Young Scientist Dr. Kunal Chakraborty (Scientist E, INCOIS, MoES). It was a splendid experience to spread the message of Ocean to remote places of West Bengal to encourage young minds! Thanks to Adhijan Naiya for coordinating on behalf of the foundation. Thanks to Principal Sir and IQAC for arranging such a brilliant event.

ECSF Director Dr. Sourav Paul had been invited in the 2nd international Seminar on Innovative approaches in Geographical Research: Exploring new dimensions to sustainable development held by Rampurhat College on 29-30 November 2024. He delivered his perspectives on bridging the academia with NGOs in the session ‘Geography in Action Research: Bridging Academia to NGOs’. The program was attended by renowned academicians of the country, administrators, scholars , students and other NGO personnel.

Congratulations to Krittka, Almas and Biswajit for poster presention research in international conference (Zooverse 2024) held on 22 November 2024 at B.B. College, Asansol, Kazi Nazrul University. The students were jointly led by Dr. Atrayee Dey (Asst. Prof. B.B. College) Dr. Anish Bhattacharya (Visiting Scientist, ECSF) and Dr. Sourav Paul (Director, ECSF).

Debarati Sengupta is congratulated for presenting her YECS research project in the SOLAS 2024 international conference held at NIO, Goa. She was among the 30 young scientists across the world who presented their research at the conference with full funding. Best wishes to Debarati for her future endeavours.

Foundation’s scientist Dr. Arunodaya Gautam led a group of Dumdum Motijheel College interns to conduct assessments of water quality of Ganges besides Kolkata in the festive season. Their work is captured by Bengali newspaper Puber Kalam.
